The Holmes Family
Proud big sister!
I am now the proud aunt of handsome Talan Michael Holmes. This awesome little man came into our lives on Thursday, 6 lbs 9 ounces, 17 inches long. He came with some surprises, mainly that it seems the right side of his body did not develop properly. Some how the wonderful medical personnel missed the fact that he is without a right arm (I am working through my anger towards medical personnel at the moment! ha!). His right leg is also twisted at the ankle. This was, of course, an initial shock to everyone but momma and daddy are handling everything beautifully. And everyone who meets Talan talks of how precious he is. He is going to bring joy to so many lives! We couldn't love our little man any more!
His leg is fully developed and his foot will straighten out with a brace. He will have two, strong, straight little legs to run, play and jump with! At the moment we are waiting for the results on his MRI and some more details from his chest x-ray. It seems that the doctors are not sure if his right lung is just very small or if he is without one at all (again...not really sure how this is possible...but so says the medical personnel).
Momma has been discharged but Talan is still at the hospital until his breathing becomes regular so he can eat on his own and not through a tube.
Big sis Taylor is doing awesome! She adores Talan, her initial concern was how he was going to drive :) We know Talan will not just survive this life but thrive and bring joy to everyone that has the privilege of meeting him.
Please keep Talan and his momma and daddy in your prayers! Can't wait to see my precious nephew next month and give him lots of love!

Praying hard for you and your family, but I know he will do fine as well! he couldnt have born into a better loving family!!
ReplyDeleteMy nephew had to wear a brace (he was born with clubbed feet turned in at the ankle) He does fine with the braces and gets around just fine :)
I thought that might be comforting to hear!!
Please keep us posted on here!
